Trim and slice the green onions.

Heat oil in a saucepan, and gently cook the onion until soft, about 4 minutes.

Add water, bouillon crystals, saffron or turmeric, and salt. Bring to a boil.

Stir in couscous and cover. Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes.

Fluff couscous lightly before serving.
