Bring a large saucepan of salted water to the boil. Add the quinoa, bring to a rolling boil again, and cook for 10 minutes. By then, white halos should be visible around a lot of the quinoa grains.
Drain the quinoa. Scrub out the soapy scum from the saucepan. Return quinoa to the cleaned saucepan. Cover and let sit off the heat, but in a warm place, for another 10 minutes, so the quinoa can absorb remaining moisture and soften further.
Stir quinoa and serve.
