Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
Rinse the blueberries and drain well. In a deep 2–cup ceramic dish, mix lemon juice, sugar, flour, and berries as best you can. Dot with butter.
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together in a medium bowl. Add 1/4 cup cream and combine with flour mixture using a dough whisk.
Place dough on a lightly floured board and knead for 1 minute. Roll out dough to fit on top of blueberry mixture in baking dish. Place dough on top and prick with fork. Bake in oven for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 325 degrees F. and continue baking 15 to 20 minutes.
Let rest 5 minutes before serving warm with thick cream to pour over.
