Heat oven to 450 degrees F. Grease baking sheet. Measure out milk.

Mix and sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk in the oil. With a dough whisk, blend in enough milk to make a soft dough.

Turn onto a floured board, pat and knead for 1 minute, no more.

Roll dough out to 1/2 inch thickness. With a long knife, cut into 7 or 8 biscuits. Place on baking sheet, prick with fork. Bake in hot oven for 12 minutes.

Yield: 7 or 8 biscuits (enough for 2 people)

For extra crunch, use 1/2 cup flour (2 oz.wt.) plus 1/2 cup wholewheat flour (2 oz.wt.), instead of 1 cup all-purpose/plain flour.
